| Rates My studio: Individual 1 hour, $60 Class of 2 1 hour, $30 each Class of 3 or more 1 hour, $20 each Your home: Individual 1 hour, $70 Class of 2 1 hour, $35 each Lesson host receives a $5 discount Class of 3 or more, 1 hour, $25 each Lesson host receives a $10 discount ~ ~ ~ Lessons are your choice of weekly or bi-weekly. Most people find that the best progress is made with weekly lessons. Tuition is payable at the start of each month of lessons. |
Scheduling Policy
Once tuition has been paid, it is deemed earned, i.e., in
general, no refunds are possible.
At the beginning of each month, student and instructor will
confirm their schedules, allowing for days that no lessons will
be taught, due to either student's or instructor's reasons, and
that month's total tuition will be adjusted accordingly.
If for any reason, in the event a student needs to reschedule
one* lesson after the month's schedule has been mutually
confirmed, the following options are available:
For individual and class students:
If notice is given at least 24 hours in advance of the
scheduled lesson, student may choose to apply up to one
makeup lesson the following month at the same day & time of
the week. and the following month will be discounted the cost
of tuition for that missed lesson.
For class students:
If notice is given at least 24 hours in advance of the
scheduled lesson, a class student may opt to pay an
additional $10 for an individual makeup lesson at the
instructor's home at date/time mutually convenient for both
student and instructor.
For all students:
If no notice is given, student forfeits the lesson.
For the instructor:
If notice is given to the student at least 24 hours in advance of
a scheduled lesson, the student agrees to accept a discount
the following month, in the amount of the cost of tuition for the
missed lesson.
For the instructor:
If less than 24 hours notice, or no notice, is given for
cancellation of a lesson, then each student has a choice of
accepting a refund or a discount in the amount of the cost of
tuition for that missed lesson.
In all circumstances, no reasons or explanations by either
party are necessary--any reason to miss a lesson is
automatically considered valid.
*Regular attendance means more progress. However, it is
understood that occasionally a lesson must be missed due to
unforeseen circumstances--hence the policy outlined above.
However, the 2nd lesson missed in a one-month period (even
with 24-hour notice) is disruptive to to other student's
progress as well as to one's own progress, and in the case of
an individual student, removes the instructor's ability to make
worthwhile use of her time.
So, for a 2nd missed lesson with 24-hour notice (in one
month's time), no refund is available, and only a 50% discount
can be applied to the following month's tuition. No notice
means the missed lesson is forfeited.
If a repeat pattern of missed lessons begins to appear, The
instructor will recommend a discussion with the student to see
how they would like to re-structure their lessons so that they
can get the most benefit from them.
